We'll help you choose based on your needs, budget, and home style. Consider:
Style: Modern, traditional, or carriage house
Material: Steel (durable, low maintenance), wood (classic look), aluminum (lightweight), composite (wood look, low maintenance)
Insulation: R-value for energy efficiency (important for attached garages)
Windows: Decorative options for natural light
Color: Match or complement your home's exterior
We'll walk you through all options during your free estimate.
-
Steel: Most popular choice. Durable, low maintenance, affordable, available in many styles and colors. Can be insulated for energy efficiency.
Wood: Classic, natural look. Requires more maintenance (painting/staining). Higher cost but beautiful aesthetic.
Aluminum: Lightweight, rust-resistant. Often used for modern designs or commercial applications. Less insulation value than steel.
Composite: Wood appearance without the maintenance. Weather-resistant and durable.
-
If your garage is attached to your home, insulation helps with energy efficiency and temperature control. Insulated doors also operate more quietly and are more durable. We recommend R-value of 12-18 for Northern Michigan winters.
